A 16-point fourth quarter allowed the Polo Panthers to pull away for a 30-7 road victory at Lathrop Friday night. The win also gave Polo a 2-0 mark for the young season.
Polo coach Kyle Ross praised his offensive line that opened the way for the Panthers to run the ball 60 times for 417 yards.
“Our offensive line play improved a significant amount this past week, which really allowed us to close out the game on the ground,” he said. “Our defense continued to play very sound and very physical football.”
Wiley Martin paced the ground attack for Polo with 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 25 attempts. Jacob Hicks also picked up 117 rushing yards on 17 carries with a touchdown.
