Eva Marie Ramseyer, 78 of Independence, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, while on Crossroads Hospice at her daughter’s home in Lexington, surrounded by her loving family.
Eva was born April 24, 1936 in Lawson, to Alvie and Myrtle (Stockton) Hendricks. She married Carl G. Ramseyer of Liberal, April 23, 1977. He survives of the home.
Eva was a technician for Johnson and Johnson before retiring in 1988. She was of the Christian faith. Eva loved crocheting and quilting. She loved being with her children and grandchildren. She had lived in Tampa, Fla. before moving to Independence, in 1998.
Additional survivors include four sons and four daughters-in-law, Mark Benton and Margret Stockton of Lee’s Summit, Ronnie Dean and Margaret Stockton of Camden, Larry William and Maureen Stockton of Zephyr Hills, Fla., Clifford Dowe and Darlene Stockton of Lexington; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah Gail and Frank Ashinhurst of Lexington, and Tina Whitebread and her fiancé, Josh Smith of Independence; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Francis “Joe” Hendricks and his friend, Annett of Richmond, Robert “Bob” Dean and Roxy Hendricks of Independence, Johnnie Stockton of Richmond, Donald Ray and Jessica Stockton of Rockville, and Alvie Gene and Beth Hendricks of Arkansas; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Shirley Jean Ellison of Lexington, Nellie Hagemann of Kansas City, Mo. and Connie and Dave Powell of Richmond; and 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by three grandsons and one granddaughter.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the family’s choice.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
