Adis Allen “Al” Branstietter, 75, of Austell, Ga., died Aug. 19, 2014 in Austell, Ga.
Al was born Aug. 23, 1938 in Henrietta, to Alva Adis and Flossie Jewel (Speck) Branstietter. He married Janetta Susan Brock of Camden, Jan. 18, 1960. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2009.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Ritchie Deon and Deanna Branstietter of Lathrop, and Allen Waid and Shelley Branstietter of Independence; two daughters, Sherralyn K. Lancaster of Eagle River, Ark., and Shalla Green of Lexington; two brothers, Gerald Branstietter of Oklahoma and Larry Branstietter of Richmond; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Al was an electrician. He worked for Boese-Hilburn Electrical Company for 35 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of IBEW union, local 124. He was a member of Beehive Masonic Lodge # 393 in Lawson. He was a member of Liberty Jewell Chapter #492, O.E.S. Al was of the Baptist faith. He lived in Henrietta and Lawson before moving to Georgia in 1995.
In addition to his wife and parents, Al was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Wade and Florence Brock and a son-in-law, Larry Green.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at 8 p.m., at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3 from 7 to 8 p.m., at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond; where masonic services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Inurnment will be Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at 4 p.m., at South Point Cemetery near Orrick.
