Russell Eugene Beasley, 77, of Richmond, passed Aug. 9, 2014 with his loving family surrounding him at Northcare Hospice House.
Russell was born March 25, 1937 in Waterloo, Iowa to William and Jessie (Parker) Beasley.
Russell enjoyed the outdoors everything from fishing to gardening and spent a great deal of his life as a Macon County Farmer. After retiring from Hager Hinge Company, Russell and his wife spent nine years traveling in their motor-home touring 49 states including Alaska. There was nothing Russell enjoyed more than taking his girl of 58 years, Shirley into his arms on the dance floor.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley of the home, one daughter Catherine Rechtermann (John), Richmond. Four grandchildren, Jeff Rechtermann (Kristina), Hardin, Justin Rechtermann (Sarah), Polo, Chris Beasley (Marlena), Richmond, and Vanessa Wilcox (Derrick) of Stuart, Iowa. Nine great-grandchildren, Austin and Alyssa Rechtermann, Hardin, Timothy and Erik Beasley and Wade Nelson and Kathryn Moore, Richmond, Kaitlyn, Madison, and Baylor Rechtermann, Polo, Grady and Riley Wilcox, Stuart, Iowa. And two Sisters Burnie Davidson, Lake Latawana, and Deanna Moore, Callao.
Russell is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, William, Bud, Bod and Roland. Three sisters, Geraldine, Margaret and Betty and his son Carl Beasley.
Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 16 with Visitation 12 to 1 p.m.. and Memorial Service at 1 p.m. at Hardin First Baptist Church, Hardin. In lieu of flowers family request contributions to Hardin First Baptist Church or to the family.
