Mary F. Arnold, 78, of Orrick, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mary was born Feb. 12, 1936 in Orrick to James Allen and Teresa (Black) McAfee. She married James Wilbur Arnold of Orrick Dec. 24, 1954; he survives of the home.
Mary was a homemaker. She was a 1954 graduate of Orrick High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orrick where she played the organ and piano for over 50 years. Mary also taught Sunday school and was the director of Bible School for several years and was a choir member. She was an active member of the Orrick Happy Hatters. Mary was a beloved wife and mother. She was a loving, attentive and generous grandmother. She had lived in the Orrick area most of her life.
Additional survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dale Arnold of Suisun City, Calif., Stephen and Lynne Arnold of Roswell, Ga. and Michael and Teresa Arnold of Orrick; one brother and sister-in-law, James R. and Pam McAfee of Richmond; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Dwight Norris of Independence; five grandchildren and their spouses, Lauren and Nathan McAfee, Kristen and Matt Tufts, Malorie and Matt Severn, Ashlyn Arnold and Kaitlin Arnold; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson McAfee, Sawyer McAfee and Collins McAfee.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Orrick.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 2, at 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Saturday, August 2, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the South Point Cemetery in Orrick. On line condolences may be left at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com
