On July 17, at its regularly scheduled meeting, members of the Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce Board unanimously voted to endorse two ballot issues appearing on the Tuesday, Aug. 5, ballot.
This announcement encourages and endorses a YES vote on Proposition 1. Proposition 1 supports and makes stronger Richmond R-XVI teachers, provides a safe learning environment for all students, patrons, and educators of the district and allows for completion of deferred maintenance items to its capital structures (buildings.)
The Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce also voted unanimously to support and endorse a YES vote to amend the Missouri Constitution through Amendment No. 7.
Amendment 7 will allow the State of Missouri to enact and collect a 3/4 of 1 percent sales tax for a period of 10 years to improve unsafe road and bridge conditions throughout the state.
The Missouri Department of Transportation has already approved projects that include Ray County and the city of Richmond. Details of these approved projects can be found at http://www.modot.org/movingforward/Regions/KansasCityRegion-MovingForward.htm.
We hope you will join us and encourage you to support your community and the State of Missouri on Tuesday, Aug. 5!
