Once again, the Spartan Touchdown Club golf tournament proved to be a successful event. The annual tournament raises money to help provide additional funds for the Richmond High School football program was held June 6.
There were 34 four-man teams competing in the fourth annual scramble that featured lunch and beverages, with a social held in the clubhouse afterward.
The top three teams in each of the three flights earned money.
Championship Flight winners shot a 54. The team of Jeff Southwick, Dean Berry, Mike Jarman and Dave Sura captured first place. The team of Grant Akers, Rob Akers, Ryan Shane and Doug McClure finished in second place, just one shot off the pace. Third place with a 56 went to Ed Sartain, Billy Cringan, Tim Hendrix and Corky Nickerson.
