If four concerts are good, six concerts are better, and better still, arts patrons can save money by selecting specific concerts to attend when the Sixth Concert Season begins this fall at the historic Farris Theatre.
The six concerts that make up the sixth season feature a variety of entertainers representing diverse musical genres.
Country music duo Wilson Fairchild opens the season Friday, Sept. 5, at 8 p.m. Singer/songwriters Wil Reid and Langdon Reid have been performing country, bluegrass and gospel music together their entire lives, in part, at least, because their fathers are Harold Reid and Don Reid of the Statler Brothers.
With their motto, “We love country music and we’ll never let it die,” Wilson Fairchild’s show includes traditional country songs, a Statler Brothers tribute and a little comedy.
Rock and roll legends The Rainmakers return to the stage Saturday, Oct. 18, at 8 p.m. Featuring local favorite Bob Walkenhorst, the band plans to perform music from its earliest albums as well as newly recorded material.
