The 2014 golf season continues for three Richmond Spartans. Two seniors and a junior passed their first test of the post season Monday at the Class 2, District 8 tournament held at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lawson and will play Monday in the Sectional at Shirkey Golf Course.

Richmond junior Philip Kincaid, along with seniors Zach Frederick and Reece Milligan will tee it up Monday for a chance to advance to the state tournament. Kincaid tied for second at the district tournament. He tied Maryville’s Hunter Hayes for the runner-up spot behind the medalist Tanner Smith of Lawson. Kincaid and Hayes each carded a 2-over 72 (37-35), with Smith finishing at even (35-35).

Milligan was among five golfers knotted up for 11th spot with a 79. Milligan opened with a 42, but came back to shoot a 37 on the back nine.
