Tanya “Nichole” Tanner-Hood, 39, of Richmond, died Sunday April 27, 2014 at her home.
Nichole was born Nov. 15, 1974 in Kansas City, Mo. to Ronald E. Tanner, Sr. and Rebecca A. Tanner. She was a lifelong resident of Missouri. Nichole enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She took great pride in her son Chad. She also enjoyed drawing and decorating any and everything. Nichole had multiple trophies and awards in pool tournaments she was involved in. She enjoyed watching her KC Chiefs play as well as the Kansas Jayhawks. She also liked to cross stitch and loved playing dress up with her nieces. Nichole was called home with her son Chad Christopher Evans.
Nichole is survived by her parents Ronald E. Tanner, Sr. and Rebecca A. Tanner, paternal grandparents of Hardin, six sisters Cynthia Tanner of California, Kristina Tanner of California, Winnie Rodriquez of California, Ronni St. John of California, Kelly Applequist of Raytown, and Amber Tanner of Richmond. Seven brothers Ronald E. Tanner, Jr. of California, Jody Tanner of California, Scott Tanner of California, Nathan Applequist of Arkansas, Eric Applequist of Excelsior Springs, Randy Tanner and Joshua Tanner of Lexington. She is also survived by 28 nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Nichole was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Lawrence G. Tanner, Sr. and Eunice E. Tanner, her sister Diana Marie Tanner, two uncles Lawrence G. Tanner, Jr. and Roger W. Tanner, Sr., cousin Albert V. Tanner, Jr., also her significant other Fred A. Smith, Sr.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Chad’s maternal grandfather Ronald E. Tanner, Sr. to defray funeral expenses. Visitation will be Saturday, May 10,at First Baptist Church, 202 Parkway St., Hardin, Missouri from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by a Memorial service at 3 p.m. Condolences may be left at www.kccremation.com.
