Area law enforcement still search for a Ray County inmate with family ties to Homestead Village, near Excelsior Springs, who escaped Saturday evening.
Jeremy Glenn Miller went through the ceiling of his jail cell around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, then pried the bottom of two metal fencings in the ceiling to gain entry in the jail garage area and then outside, according to Undersheriff Brian Bush.
Bush said he believed Miller had help with his escape.
Miller, listed as a Grandview resident, is said to be 6’1” tall and weighs around 170 pounds. He escaped wearing an orange jumpsuit and a white T-shirt. Miller also has family ties to Kansas City.
