Two Lady Bearcats set new district records Saturday afternoon at the Class 1, District 7 meet held at St. Joseph Christian.
Senior Sydnee McGlothlin’s lone victory of the meet was good enough to set the new mark of 112 feet in winning the discus. Samantha Fulte set a new record in the triple jump with her leap of 35-6. It was just one of four first-place finishes for the Lady Bearcat junior. Fulte won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.2 seconds, in addition to crossing the line in 50.31 for a victory in the 300-meter hurdles. She also had the winning leap of 16 feet in the long jump.
Madison Fulte qualified for two events at Saturday’s sectional meet in Kearney. Fulte finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.32, and was fourth in the long jump with a distance of 33-1 ½. Marisa Swartz advanced with her third-place time of 14:18.6 in the 3,200 meters, with senior Madison Endsley qualifying for two events. Endsley had a throw of 104-11 in the discus to finish in third place and was fourth in the shot put with a distance of 33-1 ½.
