Hardin-Central FFA held its annual awards banquet Wednesday, May 7 in front of an apprecative audience.
“We appreciate all who could attend the banquet,” FFA Reporter Tommy Burton said. “Members were excited to receive awards that they had worked toward all year.”
Among those receiving degrees and awards were Michael Carpenter, Daniel White, Ryan Layman and Samara Gant. Carpenter was named the Star in Agri-Placement and
White the Star in Agri-Business. Layman received the Star Greenhand Award and Samara Gant was awarded the Star Chapter Farmer Award Carpenter, Lindley Couch, and Mary Penny Were recognized with Missouri State FFA degrees.
During the ceremony, Layman was called upon to deliver the FFA Creed. After placing 4th in Area and 2nd in District competition, he also presented The FFA Creed at the State Convention.
It is customary during the banquet to nominate Honorary FFA Members. The FFA nominated Dwayne and Marsha Penny, along with Nina Carpenter, who have been great role models and served the Hardin Agriculture community. Toward the end of the ceremony, the officers for 2014-15 officers were installed. They are Sean Utley (President), White (Vice President), Jett Gabbert (Secretary), Layman (Treasurer), Eli Stone (Sentinel), and Burton (Reporter).
