Orrick junior Samantha Fulte will be making her way back to Jefferson City later this week to compete in four events at the Class 1 state track meet. Fulte won two events and added a pair of second-place finishes at Saturday’s sectional meet held at Kearney High School.
Fulte will be competing this Friday and Saturday at Reed Stadium with Orrick teammates Madison Endsley and Wyatt Nail for the Bearcats.
Fulte won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 16.06 seconds and also had the top finish in the triple jump with a sectional meet record of 35 feet, 11¼ inches. In addition, she was a runner-up in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.84, which was .37 in back of Mound City’s Emily Wedlock. Fulte was second in the long jump with a leap of 16-8¾, which was behind Wedlock’s distance of 17-5¼.
