Jarrell Foreman, Ray/Clay County Farm Service Agency executive director, this week announced reimbursement programs for livestock producers.
Enrollment for the disaster programs authorized by the 2014 Farm Bill, including the Livestock Indemnity Program and the Livestock Forage Disaster Program, will begin by April 15.
“We expect significant interest in these programs, and urge producers to begin compiling their records for the past few years and have it available to support their claims for livestock deaths and inventory numbers.” Foreman said. In addition, compile any records for additional expenses that are a result of losses to purchased forage or feed stuff.”
There is a variety of disasters from floods, drought, excessive heat and cold to winter snow storms and unexpected freezes have caused economic consequences for farmers and ranchers throughout the United States.
