Netmen blanked by Panthers again

By Russ Green-Sports Editor

For the second time in as many meetings, the Spartan tennis team was held without a win against the Knob Noster Panthers. After getting blanked in their first meeting at home two weeks ago, the Spartans were shutout in their latest meeting Tuesday – this time on the Panthers’ home courts.

The loss dropped Richmond to 2-3 in MRVC East competition, and 3-6 overall.

The Spartans lost two of their three doubles matches by 0-8 finals. The No. 1 team of Chad Truby and Collin Williamson fell to Kyle Zimmerschied and Cole Lankford, and the No. 3 duo of Ryan Sander and Wyatt Bulk lost to Seth Templeton and Garrett Williams by 0-8 finals. The No. 2 team of Chase Shipley and Austin Crossland dropped a 3-8 decision to John Abernathy and Jared Yates.
