Richmond junior Philip Kincaid fought through some tough conditions at Wednesday’s Cameron Invitational to earn medalist honors in the 14-team field. Kincaid put together a solid round on a windy day by shooting a 42 on the front nine and 40 on the back to finish with an 11-over par 82 for the low score of the day. His total edged runner-up TJ Pennington of Lawson by one shot, with his teammate Tanner Smith shooting an 84.
Just one day earlier, Kincaid was the medalist at a dual meet to help the Spartans to a win at Higginsville.
“I very proud of Philip today, taking medalist honors in conditions like they were,” RHS coach Murray Dennis said. “It was extremely windy and the very slick greens made for tough playing conditions. He is kind of on a roll right now, which is great.”
