Douglas Eugene Woodmansee, 54, of Norborne, died, Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the North Kansas City Hospital.
Doug was born Oct. 18, 1959 in Smithville, to Gerald E. and Pearl L. (Herriman) Woodmansee. He married Penny K. Swindler of Turney, Oct. 19, 1985; she survives, of the home.
Doug was a farmer. He was of the Christian faith. He lived in the Norborne area all of his life. He was a 1979 graduate of the Norborne High School. He loved his children and grandchildren very much!
Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Amanda Martin of Warrensburg; one daughter, Brandy McCormick of the home; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Harry Frock of Bosworth, and Patricia and Tom Gottsman of Columbia; three grandchildren, Mackenzie Martin, Aubrey Martin and Bryson Martin; sisters-in-law, Kathy Kanan and her husband, Kevin and Lora Pierce all of Willard; brother-in-law, Larry Swindler and his wife, Joann of Turney; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Alma Herriman; one brother, Edward Earl “Eddie” Woodmansee; and one sister, Dianna L. Woodmansee.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Antioch Cemetery.
Graveside services will be Friday, April 18, at 1 p.m. at the Antioch Cemetery, northwest of Norborne. Visitation will be Thursday, April 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Norborne. Thurman Funeral Home, Norborne, is in charge of the arrangements.
