Bob Littleton, the administrator at Ray County Memorial Hospital and former Ray-Carroll fuels manager, was placed on paid administrative leave March 19.
The action came following an emergency meeting of the RCMH board to discuss allegations by one or more female employees that Littleton acted inappropriately in the office.
Citing employee confidentiality, hospital officials said they couldn’t discuss the nature of the allegations or how many were made.
A copy of minutes taken during the March 18 closed session noted the vote was 4-0 in favor of placing Littleton on administrative leave and stipulating that he “is to have no contact with the hospital or employees during the period of the investigation.”
In related business, longtime Director of Nursing Donna Lamar agreed with the board’s request that she serve as interim administrator. Lamar, with the hospital for 38 years including 27 as head of nursing, was brought up to speed on hospital business before Littleton departed.
