Mildred Miller, 91, a Richmond resident passed away March 5, 2014 at her home surrounded by family.
Mildred was born January 17, 1923 in Lexington. She was well known as an accomplished painter and lover of life and family. Mildred was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Lexington Restoration in Lexington. Mildred was also a member of several organizations: the Jolly Jill Club, World Organization of China Painters and the Town and Country China Painters.
Survivors include one daughter Susie and Kenny Strickler of Elkhorn, two step daughters: Donna and Richard Cates of Richmond and Connie and Vincent Peppers of Liberty, two sisters Alta and Frank West of Gladstone, and Shirley and Don Calvert of Kansas City, Mo., one stepson Danny and Becky Miller of Orrick, nine grandchildren, Kevin Strickler, Lisa Strickler, Jason Blakeman, Bobbie Lynn Charles, Jennifer Kenagy, Renee Bradshaw, Kelly Short, Melissa Miller and Becky Sears, twelve great grandchildren, Alexei Strickler, Kristin Herdman, Tori Blakeman, Tony Taloney, Kaetlyn Taloney, Maddy Kenagy, Dalton Charles, Kaylea Bradshaw, Cassidy Bradshaw, Abby Short, Logan Schreier, and Isabelle Sears and four Great-grandchildren, Mason Blakeman, Braydayn Blakeman, Brenton Jackson and Brooklynn Crim.
Mildred was preceded in death by her mother and father, John and Sarah Brown, husband Charles “Dan” Miller, one daughter Sandra Acree, three sisters Dorothy Greer, Cletus Brown and Waunita Nelson, three brothers Glen Brown, Norman Brown and Ennis Brown and two grandchildren Brandon and Breanna Strickler.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at Polly Funeral Home Monday March 10, in Richmond. Service immediately following visitation. Burial will take place at Crowley Cemetery in Rayville, following the service.
