Mabel Aildwa Elliott, 89, of Richmond, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mabel was born Jan. 7, 1925 in Neosho Falls, Kan. to John and Goldie (Channell) Case. She married Emmitt Junior Elliott of Ray County, Aug. 4, 1943; he preceded her in death Dec. 20, 1982.
Mabel had worked at Sunshine Bisket Company in Fairfax, Kan. She was a member of the Fleming Baptist Church. She had lived in Fleming, before moving to Richmond.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Amy and her husband Derek Hankins, Timothy Lee Elliott, Emmitt Andrew Elliott, Mary Beth Elliott and one great grandson Garrett Lee Hankins; and one nephew, Teddy R. Elliott, Jr., of Richmond.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mabel was preceded in death by her son, Oliver Lee Elliott and a niece Linda Kay Elliott.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shirkey Foundation.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, at 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Monday, March 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the South Point Cemetery in Orrick.
