Jean Hamacher, 90, of Richmond, died Friday, March 7, 2014 at her home.
Jean was born March 25, 1923 in Orrick, to Omer Clyde and Anna Nora (Fitzwater) Hewlett. She married Newton Clark Hamacher of Richmond, April 14, 1948. He preceded her in death May 27, 2009.
Jean was a member of the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She was very artistic. She loved family, birds and cats. She was an avid reader and a voracious mushroom hunter. Jean was a lover of Mother Nature and all it’s splendor and devoted to the beauty of the natural world. She had lived in Richmond most of her life.
In lieu of flowers, it was Jean’s request that memorial contributions be made for trees to be planted at Maurice Roberts Park or the Ray County Museum.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 10, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
