The Orrick track teams went inside to get the 2014 season started Tuesday afternoon as they traveled to Warrensburg for the Mule Relays.
Junior Samantha Fulte had a good day for the Lady Bearcats. Fulte brought home a pair first-place showings.
She won the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 7 inches, which was 4 inches ahead of runner-up Shelby Crusha of Sherwood. Fulte’s second winning event came in the 55-meter dash. She broke the tape with a time of 9.50 seconds after turning in the top qualifying time of 9.58. Butler senior Kiersten Morris of Butler finished second, .13 seconds behind Fulte.
Fulte also placed ninth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.89.
Madison Fulte had the 16th-place showing for Orrick in the long jump. The Lady Bearcat sophomore had a distance of 14-0. She also ran the 400 in 1:11.46, to finish 20th in that event.
Madison Endsley took third place for Orrick in the shot put. The senior had a distance of 32 feet, 9 inches on her final throw of the event, while her teammate Sydnee McGlothlin had a throw of 28-9 to finish in seventh spot.
