Alice June Day, 84, of Henrietta, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, on her 65th wedding anniversary at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City.
Alice was born Dec. 29, 1929 in Henrietta, to Lawson A. and Alice M. (Coleman) Standefer. She married Charles T. Day of Henrietta March 25, 1949; he survives of the home.
Alice was a homemaker. She was a member of the Henrietta Methodist Church. She had lived in Henrietta all of her life.
Additional survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Pamela Day of Garland, Texas and Charles and Rita Day of Henrietta; one daughter, Lorri Dungy of Richmond; one sister, Joan Buffington of Raytown; five grandchildren and their spouses, Stephen and Katie Day, Emily Day, Andy and Roylynna Day, Maria and Tom Beck and Aaron Trindle and his fiancé, Heather Hewitt; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Standefer; and two sisters, Minnie Williams and Ardyce Smith.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ray County Salvation Army.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 30, at 2 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Sunday, March 30, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
