The weather-related cancellation of Richmond School Board’s Feb. 4 special session postponed for a week a discussion of how the district plans to search for a new superintendent.
It’s not known if board members have all seen Dr. Damon Kizzire’s letter of resignation, but the board will presumably discuss and formally accept the letter during a closed session prior to its Feb. 11 regular monthly meeting.
The meeting, normally held at 7 p.m., will begin 30 minutes later than usual. After calling the meeting to order, the board will immediately go into closed session and later return to open session.
Although Kizzire’s resignation letter hasn’t been made public, the agendas for both Feb. 4 and 11 included open-session discussion items for “superintendent search.”
