Olivia Ellis hit 6 of her 8 free throw attempts in overtime to help the Hardin-Central Lady Bulldogs hold on for a 57-53 win over visiting Winston Saturday night. Ellis was productive at the stripe all night as she converted 17 of her 25 attempts on the way to posting a game-high 31 points.

Hardin-Central improved to 15-8 with the victory, while the Redbirds fell to 12-8.

Winston continually fought back throughout the evening and eventually forced the overtime as Skylar Hall hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 13 seconds remaining to tie the game at 46-all.

After a timeout, the Lady Bulldogs turned the ball over and Winston had a chance to pull off the win, but a shot from inside the lane would not go before time ran out. The overtime session was all Hardin-Central as Ellis opened the scoring by hitting a pair of free throws. The Lady Dawgs built their lead to 55-49 in the extra time with 1:26 remaining.

Winston cut the deficit to a field goal with 31 seconds to play, and Ellis wrapped up the scoring by hitting a pair of free throws with 9.4 seconds remaining to put the game away.
