The Orrick Lady Bearcats fell 10-points behind early Monday night and couldn’t recover as they dropped a 65-54 decision to visiting North Platte. Orrick trailed 19-9 after the opening 8 minutes and Lady Bearcat coach Mitch Comstock said that was a tough hill to climb against the 18-1 Panthers.
“We came out a little too slow against a very talented North Platte team,” he said. “We played with them the final three quarters, but we have to do a better job of starting the game. North Platte’s defense caused us to turn the ball over too many times. We must play more smarter and more under control when we see pressure defenses.”
Orrick committed 24 turnovers in the contest as the Lady Bearcats fell to 14-4. The Lady Bearcats shot 49 percent from the field, with Madison Winters scoring a game-high 19 points. Madison Endsley recorded a double double with 16 points and a team-high 13 rebounds – 12 of those were on the defensive end.
