Ilah Mae Logston
Ilah Mae Logston, 85, of Richmond, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City.
Ilah was born Sept. 23, 1928 in Jamison, to George William and Lois (Troxel) Ferguson. She married Willas Richard Logston of Hamilton, Oct. 3, 1947; he preceded her in death March 30, 2011.
Ilah worked and held several positions in banking in Hamilton, Braymer and Richmond. Ilah was always very active in the churches her husband served and was a real inspiration to his ministry. She served as a church secretary for the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, before it became the United Christian Presbyterian Church. She was an active member of the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church in Richmond, she was treasure of Rachel’s Circle, a member of Sweet Adeline’s, a Red Hatter and part of the Quilters Group. Ilah was also a member of the Ray County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. They had served many communities in central Missouri and lived in Braymer and Orrick, before moving to Richmond in 1973.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Sue Logston of Jefferson City, Richard Logston of Richmond; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Marcus Knotts of Parker, Colo.; one brother and sister-in-law, Boyd and Doris Ferguson of Raymore; six grandchildren and their spouses, Travus and Jen Knotts, Nathan and Tarra Knotts, Caleb and Edie Logston, Morgan and Rachelle Knotts, Seth Logston and Kelsey Logston and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ilah was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery in Davies County. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Christian Presbyterian Church in Richmond. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery in Davies County, at a later date.
