Edward E. Lake, 83, of Richmond, died at 9:38 p.m., at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City.
Mr. Lake was born Feb. 23, 1930 in Richmond, to John William and Mary Mae (Carter) Lake. He married Dorothy M. Lance of Carrollton, Dec. 7, 1969; she survives, of the home.
Mr. Lake was a lifelong Richmond area farmer. He was of the Christian faith. He was also a member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge 57 A.F. & A.M. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Excelsior Springs VFW Post 741.
Other survivors include one step-daughter, Ana Kathleen (Fairchild) Kajander and her husband, Gareth of O’Fallon; and one step-grandson, Darrik Kajander.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, J.W. Lake; and two sisters, Maxine Spease and Mary Katherine Hamilton.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Todd’s Chapel Church or Todd’s Chapel Cemetery or Donor’s Choice.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb.20, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Burial will be at Sunny Slope Cemetery, Richmond. Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
