William L. McGinnis, 73, of Hardin, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born Nov. 18, 1940 in Tarkio to Charles Edward and Geraldine (Fauver) McGinnis. He married Nancy M. Bowman of St. Joseph, July 16, 1960. She survives of the home.
Bill was owner and operator of McGinnis Trucking. He was also a farmer. He received a degree in engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla. He was a Jehovah Witness. He had lived in Jamesport, before moving to Hardin in 2011.
Additional survivors include; three daughters and their husbands, Debra L. and Bob Worsley of Kingsville, Ronda K. and Donald Smith of Troy, Jennetta A. and Darrel Anderson of Richmond, three brothers, David E. McGinnis of Richmond, Mark McGinnis and his wife, Denise of Hardin, Jerry Michael McGinnis of Richmond, four sisters, Carolyn S. McGinnis of Richmond, Vicky M. Roberts of Richmond, Connie I. Woessner of Hardin, Gayle R. Kinnard of Richmond. Bill is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Tiffany Swift and her husband, Daniel, Dana Parsons and her companion, Matt Swift, John Smith and his wife, Cherri, Justin Smith, Shannon Worsley and her companion Hugh Graham, Scott Brown and his companion, Natalie Prather, Jason Smith, April Smith, Dylan Brown, Maria Anderson and Stephanie Anderson, along with sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by three brothers, James Edward McGinnis, Larry A. McGinnis and Francis L. McGinnis.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the William L. McGinnis memorial fund in care of The State Bank of Richmond.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 3 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at a later date.
