Tanya Ree Beltram O’Brien Sharp, 78, of Richmond, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at her home.
She was born to the late John “Doc” and Connie Beltram Dec. 8, 1935 in Kansas City, Mo. Tanya graduated from Lexington High School in 1953. She attended Central Missouri State College in 1954.
Tanya worked her entire life; she had a variety of jobs none of which defined her. Her passions in life were her family, friends and garage sales. Collecting the treasures she would find in her ongoing search brought joy to her heart. Those treasures included the people whose hearts she touched. Whether it was an item in need of repair or someone in need of a friend or a meal all were welcomed in her home. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband John of the home, her sisters and brother, Tonia and Bill Ballard of San Antonio, Texas, Judy Schulke of Independence, and Jon Kent and Barbara Beltram of Overland Park, Kan., her four children; Chris and Greta O’Brien of Overland Park; Tim and Laura O’Brien of Garland, Texas; Danny and Lea Ann O’Brien of Lexington; and Suzanne O’Brien of Portland, Ore. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Keri, Darci, Jack, Megan, Michael, Nicole, Ashley, Robert, Patrick, Cassie, Sullivan and three great-grand children; William, Aiden and Lorenzo.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Jan. 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the United Methodist Church Family Center, Lexington. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her name to a charity of your choice. Please bring written or verbal memories to share.
