A Polo man died Friday around 6:45 a.m. after being ejected from his vehicle on I-35.
Driver Bradley J. Abeln, 31, was pronounced at 8 a.m. by physicians Liberty Hospital. He and passenger Joshua P. Thomas, 32, of Hamilton, were taken to Liberty Hospital. It’s believed Thomas suffered serious injuries, according to the Highway Patrol crash report.
Abeln was driving southbound on I-35, around the 19.8-mile marker in Clay County, when he was hit by a car driven by Pamela K. Wilson, 45, of Gallatin. According to the report, Wilson’s 2008 Mercury swerved into the right lane and struck Abeln’s vehicle. The impact forced Abeln’s vehicle to skid, hit a guardrail and then overturn, ejecting both Abeln and Thomas. Neither Abeln nor Thomas was wearing seal belts, according to the report.
