Both Plattsburg and Orrick had the offense going in the first quarter, but the game then settled into a defensive battle Tuesday night. The host Tigers jumped out to a 29-23 lead after the first 8 minutes and then held on to stop visiting Orrick 49-46.
Braden Price scored a game-high 16 points and Jordan Kraemer chipped in 15 to help Plattsburg win its second game in eight outings.
Both teams combined for only 5 points in the second period with the Tigers holding on to a 32-25 advantage at the break. Senior Mason Karnes recorded a double double for the 1-8 Bearcats. Karnes scored a team-high 15 points to go along with his 11 rebounds. He also had 3 steals. Tanner Werle added 12 points and 4 assists for Orrick with Tanner Wyse grabbing 5 rebounds with 5 assists and 3 blocked shots.
