Jack Hackett, 77, of Richmond, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Jack was born Aug. 25, 1936 in Ray County, to Orville and Pearl (Williams) Hackett. He married Joyce G. McKee of Henrietta, Feb. 21, 1969; she survives of the home.
Jack was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Local Operators Union #101 for many years. He was known as A-1 back hoe operator. He was also know for all his work and help on the Missouri River during the 1993 flood. He was of the Baptist faith and a lifelong Ray County resident.
Additional survivors include two sons; two daughters; two brother; three sisters; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survives.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jack Hackett memorial fund.
As Jack’s request there will be no services. Inurnment will be at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.thurmanfunerahome.com. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
