Hardin-Central outscored Norborne at the free throw line to lift the Lady Bulldogs to a 44-39 win over the visiting Lady Pirates Tuesday night in a CLAA contest. The win kept Hardin-Central perfect through four games of league play while also improving to 8-4 overall.
The Lady Bulldogs made 19 of 36 free throws for the night, while Norborne converted 7 of 18 attempts. Norborne outscored Hardin-Central from the field, 32-27.
Hardin-Central held an 11-3 edge after 8 minutes and took a 19-12 lead at the break. Norborne closed the gap to 4 points as the Lady Dawgs held a 30-26 lead entering the fourth period.
The Lady Dawgs hit 12 of 19 free throws in their 14-point fourth quarter to hold off Norborne.
