Five Bulldogs scored in double figures Tuesday night to help Hardin-Central run its CLAA mark to 4-0 with a 74-58 victory over visiting Norborne. Four of those Dawgs reaching double digits were starters, with Ryan Layman coming off the bench to score 11 as Hardin-Central also improved to 11-4 overall with its second win of the season over Norborne.
Clif Kugler recorded a double double for Hardin-Central with 15 points and 13 rebounds, in addition to recording 4 blocked shots. Zak Finley added 13 points and 7 rebounds, with Leonard Chilcutt scoring 12 and Wyatt Craven hitting for 11. Chilcutt also pulled down 7 rebounds.
Hardin-Central took an 18-11 lead into the second quarter. Both teams found the range outside the 3-point arc in the second period with Jakob McCoy hitting four of Norborne’s half dozen treys in the period, while Layman hit three and Sean Utley knocked down two more for Hardin-Central. The Bulldogs hit 8 of 15 3-point attempts for the night, while Norborne made 12 of 27 behind the arc.
