Four Bulldogs reached double digits Saturday afternoon to help Hardin-Central get past Lexington 58-54 to take third place at the Wellington-Napoleon Invitational. The Bulldogs, now 14-2, were paced by Clif Kugler’s 18 points, while Wyatt Craven added 13 points. Both Bulldogs were named to the all-tournament team.

Both Sean Utley and Leonard Chilcutt chipped in 10 points for the Bulldogs. Javon Williams provided a big bulk of Lexington’s offense with his game-high 26 points.

Hardin-Central took command early with a 13-4 lead to open the game. However, Lexington recovered and fought back to cut the Bulldog lead to 17-13 as the second period began.

After the Minutemen pulled to within a field goal to open the second frame, Hardin-Central got 3-point buckets from Daniel White, Craven and Utley to boost the Dawgs’ halftime lead to 30-20. Once again, Hardin-Central came out strong and built a 12-point lead, 37-25, with 4:38 remaining in the third period.
