A few Richmond Spartans picked up some post-season honors following a 7-4 campaign.
Richmond had four players receive all-district recognition, while senior lineman Brock Bowers was named Class 3 All-State in two separate forms of voting. Bowers, the 6-2, 240-pounder, was the lone Spartan earning All-State honors from the Missouri Football Coaches Association. Bowers was named third-team offensive lineman honors. The Missouri Sportswriters and Broadcasters Association also selected Bowers second-team offensive lineman.
Bowers was one of a half-dozen Spartans earning all-district honors from the MFCA. He was selected on both the offensive and defensive line. Joining him on the District 8 team are quarterback Quinton Maxwell, a 6-3, 210-pound junior who ran for a team-high 954 yards in addition completing 74 of 129 passes for 906 yards. He ran for 10 touchdowns and passed for 17 more with just 7 interceptions.
