The Lawson Cardinals had very little room for error as they faced two-time defending champion Lamar in the Class 2 Show Me Bowl Friday afternoon at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. The Cardinals held Lamar out of the end zone on its first two possessions, but the rest of the game belonged to the Tigers as they routed Lawson 42-0 to claim their third straight state title.

The Tigers (14-1) set a Show Me Bowl record by piling up 518 rushing yards as Jared Beshore ran for 212 yards on 11 carries with Levi Peterson tacking on 152 more on 24 attempts.

While the Lamar offense traveled up and down the Edward Jones turf, the Tiger defense bottled up the Cardinals all afternoon. Lawson managed just 77 rushing yards with quarterback Garrett Titus held to 92 more yards through the air by completing 6 of 21 attempts. Lamar also came up with a pair of interceptions.
