Hardin’s western city limit is about to expand slightly.
Tuesday night, the Board of Aldermen held an open hearing in conjunction with its monthly meeting to offer residents the chance to express concerns about annexing Mini Mart into Hardin’s city limits. No residents objected – or attended.
Because there were no objections, the city will continue with proceedings to annex the property, Alderman Mike Tanner said. Those proceedings will include publishing a notice about the annexation, according to Mayor Bob McCorkindale.
“Hopefully, it’ll all be completed by the first of January,” McCorkindale said. “And (then), we’ll have a Mini Mart in our jurisdiction – not to mention the taxes (from it).”
Located at 46381 Missouri Highway 10, Mini Mart is a few feet outside of Hardin’s western city limit sign.
