The Hardin-Central Lady Bulldogs held Norborne to 11 field goals Friday night to take first place of the Hardin-Central Tournament with a 44-30 victory. The three-game sweep of the tournament lifts the Lady Dawgs to 3-1 for the season.
Norborne hit just 27 percent from the field, while Hardin-Central was able to connect on 38 percent of its shots. The Lady Dawgs also held the edge at the free throw line by making 12 of 20 from the stripe, with the visitors able to hit just 5 of 11 attempts.
Olivia Ellis helped boost the Lady Bulldogs in the first quarter. Ellis, who ended the night with a double double by scoring a game-high 14 points to go along with 10 rebounds, hit for three field goals and a pair of free throws in the opening 8 minutes.
Hardin-Central jumped to an 11-2 lead through the first 5:30 of the first quarter and took a 14-6 lead into the second period.
