The Hardin-Central Bulldogs have cruised into the first-place game of their own tournament with back-to-back impressive wins. The Dawgs, now 3-0 for the season, will meet arch-rival Norborne Friday night at 8:15 for the title.
Hardin-Central limited Malta Bend to just 8 field goals in Monday night’s 86-17 win over Malta Bend. All 14 Bulldogs who suited up scored, with Clif Kugler hitting for a game-high 16 in his three quarters on the court.
The Dawgs jumped to a 27-6 lead after 8 minutes and held a 53-9 advantage at the break before taking a 74-11 cushion into the final period.
Wyatt Craven and Jett Gabert each chipped in 9 points for Hardin-Central, with Leonard Chilcutt and Chase Sims adding 8 apiece. Ryan Layman scored 7, with Michael Carpenter adding 5.
Wednesday night, the Bulldogs used the same game plan on the way to an 83-26 win over Breckenridge.
