Hardin-Central’s 19-3 scoring advantage in the first quarter was too much for Northwestern of Mendon to overcome Thursday night as the visiting Bulldogs picked up their sixth win in as many tries.
The Dawgs’ 63-52 win over the Eagles also gave Hardin-Central a 2-0 mark in CLAA matchups.
After the opening surge, both teams put 17 points each on the board in the second period as Hardin-Central took a 36-20 lead at the half. Northwestern cut into the Bulldog lead in the third quarter, but Hardin-Central still held a 48-38 cushion heading into the final 8 minutes.
Four Bulldogs scored in double figures with Clif Kugler leading the way with 16 points.
