Gracie, pictured here, is a long-haired cat available for adoption through Ray County Humane Society.
“She is pretty, very sweet, and not at all pushy,” volunteer Gloria McFadden said. “When she is let out of her cell with the other cats, she goes directly to the middle of the room, lies down on the cat bed, and waits
for whomever is cleaning the cat room to come over and pet her. She loves to be petted. She is very special as she doesn’t demand attention, even though she really wants it.”
The Humane Society of Ray County has a selection of adoptable cats and dogs at its shelter. Adoption days are Saturdays and Sundays from 1-3 p.m. at 200 S. College St. (the old county jail). For info, call: 816-776-8576 or 816-456-4976.
Adoption fees are $110 for dogs or $80 for cats, which includes spay/neutering, shots, tests and registered microchipping for dogs.
