he Richmond Spartans had two first-team selections on the MRVC East all-conference squad voted on by the league coaches. The Spartans also had four more players named to the second team after completing a 3-2 conference season and a 7-4 overall showing.
Dylan Seely, a junior, was the lone Spartan earning unanimous recognition on both sides of the football, while senior Brock Bowers was named first-team offensive lineman.
As a wide receiver, Seely hauled in 46 passes for 552 yards and a half dozen touchdowns to earn first-team all-conference honors. Defensively, he had a team-high 7 interceptions – one of those returned for a touchdown. Seely also had 48 tackles with 7 pass break ups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Bowers was the key lineman for the Richmond running attack that averaged over 200 yards a game.
Richmond took up three spots on the second-team offense, and three more on second-team defense.
Senior Alex Wrisinger was named second-team offensive lineman. He joins teammates running back Brock Stokes and quarterback Quinton Maxwell.
Stokes, a senior, alternated between fullback and tailback throughout the season, depending on injury situations in the RHS backfield. He collected 561 rushing yards on 115 carries, while scoring 9 touchdowns. Maxwell, the junior signal caller, led the Spartans in rushing with 954 yards on 126 carries and scored a team-high 10 touchdowns. In addition, he completed 74 of 129 passes for 906 yards, 7 interceptions and 17 touchdowns.
