The Humane Society of Ray County has a selection of adoptable cats and dogs at its shelter. Adoption days are Saturdays and Sundays from 1-3 p.m. at 200 S. College St. (the old county jail). For info, call: 816-776-8576 or 816-456-4976.
Adoption fees are $110 for dogs or $80 for cats, which includes spay/neutering, shots, tests and registered microchipping for dogs.
One of the shelter’s new arrivals is Buster. The shelter thinks he is a Pug/Beagle mix. A good-natured, happy and friendly dog, he is 3 years old. Buster is short but strongly built. He weighs 37 pounds.
