Senior Matt Tweedie captured another top-5 finish Thursday to help the Spartans take third place at the Warrensburg Invitational. Tweedie took fifth place with a time of 17 minutes, 34.98 seconds and was edged out of third place by Hardin-Central’s Riley Gorham who crossed the line in 17:29.98.
Warrensburg runners took the top three spots as the Tigers easily captured the team event with 26 points, while Odessa was a distant second with 105 points – 4 ahead of the Spartans while Lone Jack and Eldorado Springs tied for fourth with 112 points each in the 10-full-team field.
Trent Classen took first place with 16:44.79, followed by Alex Bureson in 16:57.89 and Ethan Holland in 17:23.81.
