Rhonda Denise Meierer, 51, of Richmond, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Rhonda was born Dec. 8, 1961 in Richmond, to Russell Franklin and Glenda Lou (Cooper) Gardner, Sr. She married Michael C. Meierer of Richmond Nov. 4, 1983; he survives of the home.
Rhonda worked for Ford Motor Company as a coordinator for 22 years. She was a member of the U.A.W. Union Local #249. She was of the Christian faith. Rhonda had lived in the Richmond area most of her life.
Additional survivors include one son, Michael Montana Meierer of Richmond; two daughters and one son-in-law, Nichole Lenora Meierer of Polo, and Stacy Marie Meierer-Alcanter and her husband, Matt of Richmond; one sister and brother-in-law, Rita Crinigan and her husband, Ray of Richmond; nine grandchildren; and several other sisters.
In addition to her parents, Rhonda was preceded in death by three brothers, Randy W. Gardner, Russell Franklin “Rusty” Gardner, Jr. and Robert Gardner who died in infancy.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the Relay for Life.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
