The Orrick Bearcats found themselves short-handed Friday night in a 42-0 loss at Lone Jack. The Bearcats trailed 42-0 at the half and the game was called after heavy rain and lighting settled in for the night.
“We made some plays on offense but with only 12 players available had to stick players in places they had not previously played in,” Bearcat coach Nick Chapman said. “Overall we were very proud of our effort and battling against a very good Lone Jack team.”
Lone Jack, now 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the I-70 Conference, ran for 229 yards with Joey Brandon leading the way. The sophomore quarterback picked up 111 yards on 4 carries with 2 touchdowns, and completed his only pass attempt of the night for 36 yards.
