RHS netters win at Lexington

By Russ Green-Sports Editor

The Richmond Lady Spartans were well in control of their match Thursday at Lexington when lightning got too close to the area. The Lady Spartans held a commanding 6-0 lead with two matches in progress when the match was called due to the weather.

The win gives Richmond a 3-1 mark in the MRVC East and a 6-3 overall record.

The Lady Spartans swept all three doubles matches to begin the afternoon. The No. 1 duo of Bailey Busse and Kalynn Persell defeated Bethanie Ann Florence and Allison Lueck 8-3, while Lauren Barger and Sami Miller battled past Kayleah Tye and Maria Linares for an 8-6 decision at No. 2. Cora List and Bre Miller teamed up for an 8-2 victory at No. 3 over Laura Ryals and Natalie Scogin.
